EXPONTT.COM – The Komodo National Park Office (BTNK) strictly prohibits a number of activities by tourists. One of them is setting off fireworks in the Komodo National Park area for any reason.

“Fireworks and firecrackers are prohibited,” said the head of BTNK, Lukita Awang.

Reported by okezone.com, according to Lukita, this is because fireworks can cause rapid and massive fires, considering that the Komodo National Park area is dominated by savanna.

Tourism business actors or tourists who cause environmental damage can be subject to criminal penalties.

Komodo National Park as a nature conservation area, he continued, carried out conservation activities based on three approaches.

The approach is the protection of life support systems, the preservation of the diversity of plant and animal species and their ecosystems, and the sustainable use of living natural resources and their ecosystems.

Referring to this, BTNK strictly prohibits six activities in Komodo National Park by tourists.

In addition to fireworks, BTNK also prohibits the use of jetskis because they can endanger the safety of marine life passing through the waters.

BTNK also prohibits lighting bonfires on small islands or beaches within the Komodo National Park area, doing barbecue (BBQ) activities, and smoking.

These three activities have the potential to cause fires in the savanna or on certain trekking routes

One other thing that is also prohibited is camping. Tourists are prohibited from camping in almost all small islands or beaches in the area.

This is prohibited because Komodo dragons are spread over the five main islands of Komodo National Park, including small uninhabited islands.
